Job Summary
Ensure lids are correctly packaged in KD boxes and placed on conveyor per customer specifications, including lid inspection, count verification, and station housekeeping. Operate case erectors and auto baggers, loading film and labels while maintaining seal bar cleanliness. Stamps and numbers KDs, ensuring printed information is legible, and segregates spoilage or recyclable items into appropriate containers. Notify supervisors of product quality, mechanical, or supply issues beyond the packer's scope. Maintain 5S standards, clean ink printers, and record accurate production tallies. Once qualified, instruct new packers on procedures and manage workload to meet production and shutdown/start-up requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours; climbing stairs at a case erector; lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 30 pounds; lowering up to 30 pounds, from a height of 4 feed; pushing up to 250 pounds using a cart; visual acuity and depth perception; working in various temperatures and humidity levels.
