Job Summary
Conduct product packaging operations by adhering to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards while maintaining 5S in the assigned work area. Perform tasks including inspecting loads for defects, placing full cases on conveyors, stamping required information on boxes, and segregating spoilage or recyclable items. Manage workload to meet production requirements and follow shutdown/start-up procedures, while relieving other packers for breaks and communicating shift handover details. Record production data and fulfill overtime or additional duties as assigned. This role includes an overnight shift differential of $1.00 per hour and requires the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various temperature and humidity levels.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours; climbing stairs; lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 30 pounds; lowering up to 30 pounds from a height of 4 feet; pushing up to 250 pounds using carts or other various tools; visual acuity and depth perception; working in various temperatures and humidity levels
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, multi-task environment
- Demonstrates organizational skills and highly detail oriented
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience of 1-2 years, preferred but not required
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
