Job Summary
Conduct efficient product packing and packaging according to company standards and customer requirements while maintaining compliance with safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Perform cleaning and sanitation of production areas and supporting equipment. Serve as the primary point of contact for packing protocols for employees on the shift when management is not present. Operate a forklift and handle repetitive tasks at a pace required to keep up with production demands. Maintain close attention to detail and documentation skills throughout the 2nd shift from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years related experience and training preferred
- Attention to detail and be a self-starter
- Must be able to learn and understand the Production process
- Ability to do repetitive tasks for prolonged periods and work at a pace required to keep up with production demands
- Understanding of the food industry and safety standards
- Basic Math Skills Required
- Exceptional, grammar, writing, and documentation skills required
- Teamwork and communication skills required
- Required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach, stand, bend, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell
- Occasionally lift/move 50 lbs
- Specific vision includes the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes/airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration
- Forklift Operation required
- All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, safety issues, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action
- All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF Food Safety Code
- This is a 2nd shift position with a typical shift working Monday - Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
