Job Summary
Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor responsible for leading shift operations in a Scottsbluff facility, driving lean initiatives, safety culture, and continuous improvement. Focus areas include 5S discipline, SOP development, on-the-floor coaching, gemba walks, SQDC metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost), TPM and downtime reduction, visual management, and cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations. Office-based responsibilities include coaching frontline teams, standardizing procedures, and ensuring compliance with GMPs and third-party audits. The role emphasizes 80%+ time on the floor engaging with employees, problem-solving using structured root-cause techniques (5-Why, Ishikawa, A3), and leading from the work area while supporting operations beyond standard hours when needed. Requires strong communication, data-driven decision making, proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred), and a bias toward developing people and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent hands-on experience in a lean manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years of proven supervisory leadership in packaging, food manufacturing, or a comparable production environment
- Demonstrated track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results in safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and methodologies including 5S, standard work, visual management, TPM, root cause analysis, and kaizen facilitation
