Packaging & Value Added Lead

Job Summary
Oversee value-add operations including ink stamping, chemical etching, assembly, bagging, and labeling while ensuring work meets customer specs and customer documentation is accurate. Coordinate daily workflow with the manager to prioritize shipping schedules and distribute tasks across the team to maximize throughput in a high-mix environment. Act as the primary lead on the floor when unavailable, train new employees on packaging methods and work instructions, and maintain accurate job records within the ERP system. Perform production work while identifying bottlenecks and communicating issues proactively. Full-time role (40-50 hours/week, Mon-Thu 6am-4:30pm) supporting the Packaging & Value-Add Manager at OGS Industries, a diversified metal component manufacturer serving aerospace and military markets.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in manufacturing, packaging, or production environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and prints
- Ability to handle multiple jobs in a fast-paced, high-mix environment
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills (ERP exposure preferred)
- Experience with aerospace or regulated industry packaging requirements
- Familiarity with part marking methods (ink stamp, etch, etc.)
- Prior leadership or training experience
- High accountability mindset (owns mistakes and fixes them)
- Strong communicator (keeps Manager informed, works with team)
- Process-oriented (doesn't wing it job to job)
- Sense of urgency without sacrificing accuracy
- Willingness to learn and grow into a management role
