Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate Packaging Department activities to ensure continuous production, including assigning duties, training staff, and resolving operational issues. Prepare and adjust daily work schedules based on production plans, review packer schedules to build job folders, and create labels for workstations. Maintain workflow procedures, enter production data into the Shop Floor System, and submit daily performance reports to management. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and drive safety management through inspections, education, and reinforcement of proper methods. Make employment recommendations for hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions while monitoring performance evaluations. May operate pallet jacks and forklifts to move product and re-allocate labor to support business demand. Perform duties as needed to meet deadlines. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Operations and Logistics, forklift certification, and willingness to become a certified First Responder.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations and Logistics or related field
- one year of relevant work experience
- Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Must be able to operate a Class II Order Picker
- Must be able to operate a Class II Stand-Up Forklift
- Must be able to operate a Pallet Jack
- Must be able to operate a Label Printing System
- Must be able to operate an RF Sealer
- Must be able to operate a Staple Gun
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to handle multiple functions
- Willingness to become a certified First Responder
- Willingness to respond to emergencies
- Willingness to respond to after hours emergencies
