Job Summary
Load outgoing cheese onto trucks, inspect trailers for contamination, and receive incoming supplies while maintaining accurate shipping logs. Perform daily equipment inspections on pallet trucks and coolers, monitor packaging inventory, and coordinate material movement between facilities. Execute aseptic sampling procedures, maintain sanitation schedules for dry storage areas, and provide break relief to support continuous operations. Work 4am to 4pm on a 2/2/3 schedule within a manufacturing environment requiring adherence to strict food safety and HACCP policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, batch tickets, recording charts, and equipment readouts, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before individual Team Members or departments
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure such as pounds, ounces, gallons, inches, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to navigate the Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Forklift Certification (will train and certify internally)
- Must frequently lift and/or move 40# blocks of cheese
- Must also carry chemical containers weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must have close vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to walk and talk or hear
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (occasionally)
- Must be able to work with and around hazards such as moving mechanical parts, Power Industrial Vehicles like forklifts along with toxic and/or caustic chemicals
- Must be able to work in confined or restrictive areas
- Must be able to work in extreme, non-weather related heat, wet and/or humid conditions
- Must be able to work occasionally outside weather
- Must be able to work due to usually loud noise levels (ear protection may be required)
- Must wear safety goggles
- Must wear chemical resistant gloves
- Must wear hearing protection
- Must wear face shield (recommended)
- Must wear chemical resistant apron (recommended)
- Must wear coat (recommended)
- Must wear steel toe boots (recommended)
