Job Summary
Operate production lines producing premium glazed nut mixes and snack food items while adhering to safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Processes. Build packing boxes, place labels, and ensure pouches are correctly filled and sealed before stacking them onto shipping pallets. Gather raw materials, perform lot code verification, and inspect ingredients for quality before measuring and loading them into roasting equipment. Operate automated roasting and mixing machinery, set oven timers, and monitor roasting times to produce batched product. Manage detailed cleaning tasks through sanitation checklists and maintain chemical usage logs. Confer with management on equipment and procedure improvements to enhance sanitation standards and product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English
- Ability to routinely lift, up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, and soy
- Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery
- Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties
- Demonstrated reliable attendance record and ability to comply with attendance policy
- Understanding that punctuality is key
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and kneel for extended periods frequently
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours
- Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently
- Ability to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) provided by the company
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to food production areas, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures (both hot and cold)
- Ability to work Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm
- Ability to work weekday or weekend overtime as needed
- Ability to work in an indoor food manufacturing setting
- Ability to complete documentation completely and accurately
- Ability to collect regular samples to meet quality checks
- Ability to perform basic adjustments and repairs to machines
- Ability to take initiative to ensure work is done correctly and safely
- Ability to adhere to Company work rules
- Ability to follow Company's Good Manufacturing Processes at all times
- Ability to build packing boxes and/or trays for bulk product
- Ability to place product labels on pouches and shipping boxes as needed
- Ability to ensure pouches are correctly filled and sealed
- Ability to pack sealed pouches into prepped shipping boxes
- Ability to seal loaded boxes and properly stack boxes onto shipping pallets
- Ability to gather ingredients and raw materials from the warehouse, or pre-production storage area
- Ability to perform Lot Code verification
- Ability to inspect and sort raw materials for quality
- Ability to measure ingredients for roasting and mixing
- Ability to load ingredients into totes for roasting
- Ability to operate automated roasting and mixing equipment per Company SOP's
- Ability to set timers for ovens
- Ability to load product into ovens
- Ability to monitor product to ensure proper temperature and roasting times are used
- Ability to mix product in mixing drums
- Ability to manage detailed cleaning tasks through sanitation checklist and master sanitation schedule
- Ability to confer with management and production personnel on problems and recommend changes in equipment, procedures, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product quality
- Ability to maintain chemical usage and cleaning logs
- Ability to be responsible for inventory and storing of sanitation supplies and chemicals
- Ability to perform housekeeping and cleaning duties, according to Company SSOPs
- Ability to meet Company's expectations of its' Basic Beliefs
