Job Summary
Repackage prescriptions for corrections patients, employees, and public health clients under pharmacist supervision while ensuring all pharmaceutical processes comply with policies, accreditation standards, and state licensure requirements. Maintain proper storage and security for medications, clean and sterilize equipment, and manage inventory by ordering, labeling, and counting stock supplies against invoices. Communicate effectively with clients and peers to resolve issues and notify management of critical information impacting patient care or vendor relations. Work evening shifts from 2pm to 11pm with rotating schedules, adhering to mandatory overtime during peak times.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy
- Minimum of 1-year experience
- Must complete sufficient hours of CEU to maintain technician license and technician certification
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Willingness to complete departmental duties in other areas as needed
- Willingness to complete special projects as needed from management
- Willingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak times
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
