Job Summary
Summer Packaging Operator Student position working in Redpath Sugar/ASR Group facilities in Canada, performing cleaning of food and non-food contact equipment, assisting packaging and process teams, lifting sugar bags up to 20 kg (40 kg with team lift), operating powered hand trucks, and following GMP, Food Safety, and Health & Safety policies. Roles include sanitation and record-keeping tasks, training of other associates as required, and varied duties across multiple plant locations during rotating shifts from June 2026 to August 31, 2026. Must be a current college/university student with ×2 yrs assets in manufacturing/food plants preferred; strong teamwork and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are desired.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a student and enrolled in a College or University program
- One year work in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset
- Experience in a food plant with an understanding of food safety and GMP requirements is also an asset
- Able to follow simple instructions
- Able to carry out routine but varied tasks
- Able to operate packaging machinery, powered hand trucks and equipment
- Able to apply proper cleaning procedures
- Regular periods of physical exertion including lifting up to 20 kg
- Must have ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach and climb stairs
- WHMIS familiarity and adherence to safety and GMP practices
