Job Summary

Operate, adjust, and change over automatic VFFS, cartoning, and case packing equipment while reading and following batch ticket instructions. Input and retrieve information regarding SPC, batch tickets, and finished product evaluations using a computer. Maintain a clean operating area and work in a safe manner by following GMPs and housekeeping guidelines. Bend, lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and use your entire body to maneuver through various tasks on a cement floor. Confront and solve problems while managing time effectively in an unsupervised environment. Work rotating night shifts (4-3-2) with flexibility for overtime and other shifts as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Accurate reading, math, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work rotating night shift 4-3-2; 7:00pm - 7:30am
  • Ability to operate packaging equipment (machinery) at standard
  • Ability to read and follow directions correctly, written and verbal, continuously
  • Ability to use your entire body to bend, twist, push, pull, reach, squat, climb, maneuver, stand, walk, sit, and lean in awkward positions
  • Ability to climb and balance on an 18 to 20-foot ladder
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, occasionally
  • Pro-active in quality and follow GMP's and housekeeping guidelines
  • Flexible to work other shifts and overtime as business needs require
  • Ability to work with people in a team environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Food processing and packaging machinery experience
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Flexible to work overtime and other shifts as business needs require
  • Proactive in quality and follow GMPs and housekeeping guidelines
  • Communicate well and provide meaningful feedback
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently while working unsupervised
  • Confront and solve problems
  • Work in a safe manner

  • Input data in documents relating to SPC, batch tickets and finished product evaluations
  • Operate, adjust, and change over automatic VFFS, Cartoning and Case packing Equipment
  • Bend, using proper lifting techniques to a height of 8" occasionally
  • Climb and balance on 6 to 10 ft ladders occasionally
  • Twist at waist and reach at or below shoulder height frequently
  • Stand and walk continuously on a cement floor
  • Maintain a clean operating area
  • Read and follow batch ticket instructions
  • Bend and lift using proper techniques, up to 50 lb, occasionally to a lifting height of 44"
  • You are not assigned to one piece of equipment - we have several different work areas, and you'll be learning a few at a time
  • This is hard work. You'll need more than physical strength - you'll need fortitude and gumption to handle equipment ownership, solve problems, and maneuver through the unexpected
