Job Summary
Packaging Operator role responsible for maintaining quality and operating packaging equipment on the assigned line. Duties include packaging products in bags/boxes/bulk, stacking weights up to 50#, visually inspecting finished product, ensuring GMP and HACCP compliance, participating in equipment setup and basic troubleshooting of lines (Bemis 1/2, Parsons, Jem lines, palletizers, forklifts, stretch wrappers, scales, metal detectors, labelers, coders, case erectors, trash compactors), and performing QA tasks such as data entry into IQS, product sampling, and first article inspections. Requires completion of required paperwork, adherence to FIFO, and ongoing training/coaching of other staff. Proficiency with Alphia systems (JDE, IQS) and ability to obtain Alphia Lock Out/Tag Out and forklift certifications. Must maintain a clean, safe work area, follow GMPs, SOPs, and JSA procedures, and communicate quality concerns promptly. Education required is a high school diploma or GED; manufacturing experience preferred. The position is located in Pittsburg, Texas (US) and requires in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma and/or GED required
- Experience: Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficiency in Alphia Business Systems (i.e., JDE, IQS) as it applies to the position
- Ability to obtain Alphia Lock Out / Tag Out certification
- Ability to obtain Alphia forklift certification
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and percentages
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in written form, and via radio
- Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
