Job Summary

Operate automated packaging machines to ensure quality standards, schedule attainment, and line efficiency while directing line workers and managing machine changeovers. Perform Total Productive Maintenance activities including daily checks, lubrication, cleaning, and inspection tasks to ensure maximum machine reliability. Execute hourly quality checks, adjust machine settings, and troubleshoot malfunctions by clearing jams and reporting issues to a lead or supervisor. Maintain current records, manage machine changeovers for species or allergen changes, and ensure all personnel are properly trained and safety protocols are followed. Work the 3rd shift from Sunday to Thursday with overtime as required, earning $28.00 to $29.00 per hour plus a shift differential.

Required Qualifications

  • Lock-Out Tag-Out Certified (OJT)
  • Familiarity with HACCP (OJT)
  • Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT)
  • Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT)
  • Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
  • Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
  • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to diagnose root cause of equipment failures and perform first level mechanical interventions before escalating to Maintenance
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Desired Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months’ manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Previous machine operator experiences preferred
  • Pallet jack experience preferred
  • SQF preferred
  • Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate
