Job Summary
Machine Operators will work with meat cutting/packaging machines and other equipment to process meat products for the consumer. These positions require technical knowledge of computerized equipment. The role is physically demanding, requiring good hand-eye coordination and the ability to stand for long shifts. Operators must follow safety, quality, and production standards, may be required to work overtime, and will contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient production line to deliver high-quality food.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
- Ability to work with a knife (if trained)
- Ability to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
- Ability to work in wet and humid environments
- Ability to wear PPE (hard hat, eye/ear protection, steel-toed shoes)
- Ability to climb/move on ladders and platforms
- Ability to lift repetitive overhead up to 30 lbs, or up to 60 lbs single-lift or with mechanical assistance
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
