Packaging Operations Team Lead

Job Summary
Packaging Operations Team Lead is onsite in Shanbally, Cork, Ireland, and will manage daily packaging operations for multiple product suites, ensuring schedule adherence, escalation handling, and compliance with cGMP. The role leads a team of packaging technicians and shift leads, drives performance metrics (schedule adherence, changeover, downtime), supports product launch activities, validation and regulatory inspections, and partners with QA/QC, engineering, and other stakeholders to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient packaging processes. Key focus areas include people management, training, master batch records and SOP compliance, safety and environmental compliance, equipment maintenance, validation activities, and the implementation of lean and Six Sigma practices to achieve operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- People management of direct reports (packaging technicians and shift leads)
- Lead and support packaging team to meet production schedule
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving support for packaging operations
- Collaboration with Packaging BPS, Warehouse, QA & QC, Engineering
- Participation in meetings (Daily Ops, S&OE, Functional Lead Team)
- Maintenance of training records and training plans
- Ensure training, master batch records, SOPs and related documents are current and compliant with cGMP
- Partner with plant engineering for equipment maintenance and calibration
- Prepare/approve validation protocols and validation plans; support ongoing validation activities
- Apply Right First Time (Six Sigma) and lean manufacturing principles
- Coaching and development of staff; participate in performance evaluations and hiring
