Job Summary
Packaging Machine Operator on the 2nd Shift at AWF in Schofield, WI is responsible for safely and efficiently producing and shipping packaged wood shavings. Responsibilities include operating equipment to produce packaged materials, coordinating with the shift supervisor, maintaining cleanliness of the work area, handling packaging steps (placing bags on fill tubes, sealing, palletizing up to 40-50 lbs), performing outdoor duties (sweeping, gardening-related tasks, snow deicing) as needed, and ensuring quality measures are followed. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, wearing PPE, and participating in monthly safety meetings. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, climbing stairs/ladder, and working in various weather conditions. Preferred experience in manufacturing (1 year) and prior mobile equipment or forklift familiarity. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
- Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
- Manufacturing: 1 Year (Preferred)
- Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
- Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment
