Packaging Machine Operator

Job Summary
Set up and operate roasting and packaging machines to ensure finished products meet customer and regulatory requirements, including troubleshooting equipment and escalating issues as needed. Lead a team of line operators by directing staff for efficient and safe operation, assisting with training, and maintaining accurate documentation. Clean and sanitize equipment during changeovers while adhering to food safety, quality, and GMP policies. Communicate with maintenance and quality staff to optimize production goals. Work the 1st shift (5:30am–2:00pm) or 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:30pm) on the concrete production floor, lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing pallets of raw materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 yrs or older
- Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, Allergens and Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to use GMP & PPE appropriately (hairnets, smocks, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders/stairs
- Push/pull up to 2200 lbs of raw materials on a pallet with a pallet jack
- Slide barrels of up to 600 lbs of ingredients from pallets to conveyors
- Reach, lift, stack or maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to follow GMP guidelines when entering our production facility
- Must attend all company required training
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer having at least 1 year packaging machine operator experience in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
