Job Summary
Remove finished bakery products from packaging conveyors and pack them into plastic baskets or corrugated master cases. Observe machine operation to prevent jams, dislodging jams while following safety procedures. Inspect products for damage or specification conformity before packing into master cases. Transport completed pallets to storage, break up and stage case dividers, and supply empty cases. Sweep floors, wipe down equipment, and maintain a clean work area. Set tape machines to product specifications, seal cases accurately, and monitor bar code and lot number printing. Repack damaged cases, change tape rolls, and clear conveyor jams. Report case counts on sheets, equipment problems to the foreman, and all unsafe acts immediately. Operate material handling equipment to convey and store materials and finished goods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of general warehouse/production work experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
