Job Summary
Remove finished bakery products from packaging conveyors and pack them into plastic baskets or master cases. Observe machine operation to prevent and clear jams while following safety procedures, and inspect products for damage before packing. Transport completed pallets to storage, break up and stage case dividers, and supply empty cases to the line. Set tape machines to specifications, monitor bar code and lot number printing, and repack damaged cases. Sweep floors, wipe equipment, and report all equipment problems or unsafe conditions immediately to the foreman.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of general warehouse/production work experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
