Job Summary
Lead the packaging engineering team, overseeing packaging design, development, and optimization while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards. Collaborate with HQ, suppliers, Marketing, and Operations to execute packaging strategies and align solutions with brand and product goals. Manage new product development and commercialization processes, designing sustainable packaging that balances cost-effectiveness and environmental impact. Conduct R&D scale-up testing to ensure production integrity and apply food microbiology and chemistry knowledge to resolve product defects. Report project progress using MS Project software and maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor strategies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or Food Science, 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing, and leadership in managing teams and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in packaging development within the food manufacturing industry
- Hands-on experience in packaging design and development from concept to production
- Strong understanding of packaging qualification standards, supply chain logistics, and regulatory compliance
- Experience collaborating with packaging suppliers
- Leadership experience in managing teams and projects
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
