Job Summary
Lead and contribute to planning and execution of packaging projects for Quality/CAPA, regulatory compliance, supplier change notices, cost savings, and new product introductions across domestic and international manufacturing facilities. Manage moderate to large-scale projects with minimal supervision, develop testing protocols, and execute change control activities by interfacing with multiple functional groups. Approve new packaging materials, create technical specifications and drawings, and utilize DMAIC techniques to resolve complex problems and drive continuous improvement. Perform financial planning to justify project approvals. This role supports new product development teams and may require travel to manufacturing plants and suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Packaging or relevant Engineering degree (e.g. Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical)
- minimum of 5 years of experience
- experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency in packaging materials and processes
- proficiency in problem analysis and resolution
- proficiency in statistical methods
- proficiency in design of experiments
- Proficient in applicable change control and development methodology and processes required to execute packaging projects
- Successful track record of managing packaging projects
- sense of urgency and commitment to meet project milestones
- Cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work
- The ability to deal with ambiguity
- effective use of creative problem solving skills
- Embrace Lean Principals
- utilize concepts such as standard work to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews with minimal assistance
