Job Summary

Packaging Engineer to ideate, design, prototype, and validate new package proposals with an emphasis on aesthetics, performance, and manufacturability. Responsibilities include developing packaging to support new product development and renovations, providing research and design ideation for primary/secondary/tertiary packaging for retail and ecommerce, generating dielines, specifications, BOMs, and assembly instructions, contributing to technical documentation, supporting CTQ requirements (Cost, Time, Quality), collaborating across locations and with external suppliers, ensuring safe transport through package testing, developing visual materials (sketches, 3D renderings, ISM research, unboxing visuals, palletization layouts), aiding in development of packaging standards, maintaining knowledge of packaging technologies, and prototyping using the Kongsberg digital sample making table to evaluate proposals and conduct feasibility/validation tests; generating samples for internal reviews and customer meetings; and supporting QMS/Medical device record file management. Occasional travel is required. The role is based in Miami, FL, USA.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Science, or Industrial Design (with emphasis on packaging development)
  • 3+ years of experience in developing primary, secondary, and tertiary retail and ecommerce packaging components for consumer goods industries
  • Strong creative process with blending of aesthetics and engineering
  • Ability to develop 2D dielines for flexibles, folding carton, and corrugated packaging using ArtiosCAD
  • 3D rendering using SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD 3D, or equivalent
  • Experience with Kongsberg sample cutting table and substrates (paperboard, corrugated, plastic films)
  • Experience with palletization software like Cape or similar
  • Familiar with package manufacturing + print processes, equipment and materials
  • Experience with ISTA and/or ASTM testing methodology, root cause analysis, and CAPA
  • Working knowledge of Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word
  • Strong verbal, written and graphic communications skills
  • Ability to drive multiple projects from concept to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who values collaboration and feedback
  • Occasional travel (approx. once per quarter)
