Packaging Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design and develop packaging solutions for HP printer products including cartons, rigid boxes, and molded pulp; contribute to mechanical and thermal hardware solutions including electronics enclosures and production tooling; execute test plans (tolerance validation, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, EMI, safety, reliability); manage outsourced suppliers and cross-functional teams; lead packaging/hardware development programs and mentor junior engineers; utilize 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks); drive cost, quality, and sustainability improvements across packaging solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Typically 4–7 years of experience in engineering design, hardware development, packaging design, or related fields
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks)
- Understanding of design for manufacturability, packaging processes, and production tooling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
