Packaging Design Engineer

Job Summary
Develop packaging proposals to protect product integrity during transportation, handling, and distribution. Determine component specifications, create 3D models and engineering drawings, and build prototypes using standard materials while maintaining laboratory hygiene. Execute transport simulation tests per ISTA and ASTM standards, define test protocols, and seek savings opportunities through freight space optimization. Engage with manufacturing, new projects, laboratories, commodity departments, and suppliers to monitor proposals and support global Flex sites via conference calls and visits. Document all design and testing information. Requires Bachelor's degree in industrial design or mechanical engineering, fluency in English, SolidWorks proficiency, and experience with integrity testing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge in SolidWorks
- Knowledge in Excel and Project
- Experience with performing integrity ISTA tests and packaged product simulations
- Knowledge of international standards (ISTA and ASTM) for transport simulation and integrity testing of packaged products
- Knowledge of transport simulation testing equipment
