Packaging Application Engineering Manager

Job Summary
Lead and manage collaborative pre-sales technical efforts, defining project aspects and proposing solutions to Sales Teams and international colleagues. Directly supervise a team of Application Engineers, overseeing hiring, training, performance evaluation, and the implementation of onboarding and continual training programs. Manage workflow processes and resource allocation to ensure efficient project transitions from Sales through downstream Engineering teams, including formal order documentation and machine drawing processes. Provide technical expertise during sales calls and order clarifications to support closing new business opportunities and address follow-up concerns with customers and partners. Travel up to 25% of the time with a flexible schedule to accommodate sales and customer needs. Visit the German parent company as required to maintain internal partner relations. Utilize SAP, MULTIVAC systems, and CRM databases to improve deliverables quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field
- Five years technical experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical background
- Expertise with creating equipment application sales proposals
- Ability to discuss complex technical requirements
- Previous management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Current valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
