Job Summary
Packager – 2nd Shift at Steel Technologies. Responsibilities include setting up and operating banding equipment to package materials, preparing skids to customer specifications, operating turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane, packaging materials per customer instructions, ensuring proper identification/segregation, transporting materials with forklift or overhead crane, maintaining safe handling of materials, cleaning work areas, and loading/unloading within procedures. Must be able to use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers, comply with safety rules, and obtain forklift/crane certifications. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally. Required Qualifications
- Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers
- Pass necessary Forklift Certification and/or Crane Training
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Safety compliance per procedures
- Operate packaging equipment (banding line, turnstile, crane)
- Load/unload materials
- Maintain production standards
- Safely handle material without damage
- Operate forklift/overhead crane as needed
