Job Summary
Plan and coordinate all scheduling activities for Central Valley PACE participants, supervising daily operations of coordinators, drivers, and aides. Review and verify bills for outside contractors, maintain program records per policy, and conduct system-wide analysis of transportation operations to ensure efficiency. Coach staff, administer disciplinary action, and participate in the Interdisciplinary Team for care planning. Make adjustments to routes or trips on short notice, investigate participant complaints, and assist passengers while managing medical equipment and emergencies. Train drivers on established processes, test for competencies, and serve as a backup driver as necessary. Monitor budgetary practices, prepare staff schedules, and communicate policies clearly to the essential transportation team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CA Driver's License, clean driving record, and vehicle insurance
- Current BLS CPR Card, certified by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience
- Minimum one (1) year routing/dispatching experience
- Minimum two (2) year experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff
- Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents
- Must have high manual dexterity
- Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with geriatric individuals including those with cognitive decline and/or physical frailties
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Central Valley PACE and approved by CMS before working independently
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience, within a transportation setting preferred
- Six Sigma certification, preferred
- One (1) year prior personal care assistance experience, preferred; or ability to pass internal competencies
