Job Summary
The Personal Care Assistant provides basic personal care assistance and activities of daily living for participants and communicates patient care needs to the nursing staff. Responsibilities include delivering durable medical equipment, attending to home care assessments, effective communication with participants and families, and participating in care planning. Candidates must lift up to 30 pounds, possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, have a valid CA Driver’s License, and be CPR certified. The position involves exposure to biohazards and the need for effective teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Driver’s License
- acceptable driving record and vehicle insurance
- reliable transportation
- able to treat people of all ages including geriatrics
- meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Central Valley PACE and approved by CMS before working independently
- Current BLS CPR Card certified by the American Heart Association
- Prior personal care assistance experience or ability to pass internal competencies within six months of hire
