Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School and provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like environment. The role starts with a nine-on/three-off schedule, with eventual placement in a consistent student home. Qualifications include youth experience, the two-spouse requirement, age minimums, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
