Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include: supervising and mentoring students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Requires experience with youth, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to lead devotions; relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
