Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks a two-person, married-couple team to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. The role involves living in on-campus student homes with 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, and leading devotions and Chapel attendance. The schedule starts with a nine-on, three-off cycle and may transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) totaling about $168,000 per couple, comprehensive health plans, retirement options, and relocation assistance with paid training. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free, weapon-free, alcohol-free campus. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
