Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid US driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, and exclusive commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with no alcohol during duty. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a dedicated student home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
