Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School, residing in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and later transitioning to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group. Requires experience with youth, a legally married couple (both spouses aged 27+), high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus; benefits include relocation assistance, training, and comprehensive insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students
