Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, living in on-campus student homes and supervising groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from initial multi-home placement to a fixed student home. The position includes on-campus housing, meals on duty, benefits, and relocation/training support. Both spouses must complete individual applications and be at least 27 years old, with a high school diploma or GED, and meet other listed qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year marriage requirement for both spouses
- Two-person role requiring both spouses to complete individual employment applications
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proficiency in leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Comfort with supervising and mentoring students
- On-campus housing required
- Ability to follow a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off
- Planned transition to Placed Houseparent role
- Background check and training provided included
