Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School (two-person, legally married couple) reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, mentoring, managing student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role follows a nine-on / three-off cycle, with eventual placement into a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Salary is $44,768 per person plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, being a married couple for at least two years with both spouses aged 27+, valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, comfort with leading devotions and chapel services (proselytizing prohibited), and a strong commitment to student success and professional conduct. For consideration, both spouses must submit individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year married for at least two years (both spouses)
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to reside in on-campus student homes
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Planned working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off
- Ability to drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational activities
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
