Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to supervise 8–13 students, provide care and mentorship, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a future transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approx. $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel services
- Proselytizing prohibited on campus
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pre-employment employment applications to be completed by both spouses
- On-campus residency in student homes
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- High school diploma or GED required
- Driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans
