Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes, provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance to a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, and plan developmental/recreational activities. They lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from a Flex Houseparent (nine days on, three off) to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group. Schedule includes nine consecutive days on duty followed by days off, with relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
Additional Requirements
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
