Job Summary
Two-person, Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School, located on the on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in student homes and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Work schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a later transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Two-person couple must both apply (individual employment applications)
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
