Job Summary
Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider role in Orthopaedic Surgery – Adult Reconstruction. First assist in the operating room for total joint replacement and provide clinic/outpatient assessment, post-operative care, and patient education. Requires successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program (CRNP) or physician assistant program, PA or CRNP licensure in Pennsylvania, and active collaboration with physicians within the care-delivery team. The position emphasizes independent judgment, effective communication, leadership within the team, and ongoing professional development. Location is UPMC Shadyside and UPMC East in Pittsburgh, PA; hours are Monday–Friday with the role functioning within a team delivering orthopedic care and discharge planning in alignment with the COE program.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant license/credential in Pennsylvania
- Current RN license and CRNP certification or NCCPA certification (for PA)
- BSN/MSN preferred (CRNP) or PA program completion (ARC-PA)
