Job Summary
Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (PA or CRNP) at UPMC Presbyterian with cross-cover at Shadyside/East. Responsibilities include inpatient rounding, operating room participation, and outpatient clinic care; opportunities to scrub in robotic procedures. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to manage thoracic surgery patients from diagnosis through recovery, with emphasis on growth through mentorship, clinical development, and participation in a high-functioning APP team. Senior-level appointment based on 3+ years of APP experience; position offers a structured career ladder, transition-to-practice program, CME, and competitive compensation. Licensure requirements include active RN license, CRNP certification, CPR, and required state and system-level clearances; board certification and ongoing education are emphasized. Location: Pittsburgh, PA (primary), with cross-cover at additional UPMC campuses; schedule rotations avoid on-call/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required
- Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program (CRNP)
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Current CPR certification is required
- Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 clearances required
- ACLS or equivalent certifications listed must meet standards
- The successful candidate will be placed according to years of experience; Senior level requires three (3) or more years of APP experience
