Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients at an ICU level, excluding those with open chests or requiring mechanical circulatory support. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate responses to interventions while performing invasive procedures such as central line placement and chest tube removal. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including ICU intensivists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and cardiology for multidisciplinary rounds. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options, and discharge planning. This full-time role operates on a 50/50 day/off shift schedule with weekend, night, and holiday coverage, situated within the Heart and Vascular Institute's new CVSICU extension unit.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Certification from an Accredited Program
- 50/50 Day/Off Shifts with opportunity for full time nights or weekend option
- Including weekends, nights, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- ICU and/or cardiac surgery clinical experience
