Job Summary
Collaborate with ICU intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill cardiac surgery patients at an ICU level. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and perform invasive procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube removal, and pacer wire removal. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options, and discharge planning. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with cardiology, pulmonology, and cardiothoracic surgery teams. This full-time role includes 50/50 day/off shifts with options for nights or weekends, covering holidays. The position supports the expansion of the CVSICU extension unit for high-acuity patients not requiring mechanical circulatory support.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Certification from an Accredited Program
- 50/50 Day/Off Shifts
