Job Summary
Two-person Full-time on-campus houseparent role at Milton Hershey School: married couples live in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and activities for 8–13 students; responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting; schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year marriage and both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model standards for students
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Flex Houseparents live in on-campus student homes and provide care to 8–13 students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
