Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School: a two-person married couple live on campus in student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support; duties include administering medications, driving to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent after an initial nine-on/three-off schedule. Compensation includes per-person salary and comprehensive benefits, plus relocation assistance and paid training. Requires experience with youth, high school diploma/GED, legally married for at least two years, both spouses 27+, and ability to lift 50 lbs; valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to become certified to drive student vans.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-modeling for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
