Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students, including supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition into a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Must be a legally married two-person team (both spouses 27+ years old) willing to complete individual applications, with on-campus housing and a demanding schedule that supports students’ academic, emotional, and spiritual development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of marriage minimum (must be legally married for at least two years)
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; serve as role models for students
- Willingness to complete individual employment applications (two-person role)
- Comfort with housing students in on-campus homes and providing supervision and mentorship
- High school diploma or GED required
