Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School involve on-campus residence with a group of about 813 students, supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, and leading devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and may transition to a Placed Houseparent living in a dedicated student home. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 plus comprehensive coverage and relocation/training; requires high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to obtain van-driving certification, and strict age/marriage-duration requirements for both spouses in the two-person team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
