Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School, coordinating daily supervision, mentorship, medications, and activities for 8–13 students; responsibilities include driving to activities, planning and leading devotions and Chapel, overseeing household routines and budgeting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. The role requires married partners for at least two years, both aged 27+, valid driver’s license with ability to obtain van certification, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
