Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person married-couple role living in on-campus student homes to care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-spouse two-person role, married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
