Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School who are a married couple reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a stable Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (approx. $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and designated paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions
- Proselytizing prohibited within faith context? (Judeo-Christian Chapel)
