Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and development support for approx. 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on/three-days-off duty cycle before transitioning to a placed houseparent with the same student group. A two-person, legally married couple (both spouses 27+ with at least two years of marriage) is required to apply together.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to drive students to activities
- Willingness to reside in on-campus student homes and follow a duty schedule
- Two-person role for couples to participate as houseparents
- Desire to work with youth in a structured, family-like environment
